Handmade Fine Silver Jewelry made with Precious Metal Clay (PMC)
Brookfield Wisconsin

My love of making jewelry has been a lifetime dream. I grew up in a family of jewelers where my father, brother and nephew were/are Master Watchmakers and Jewelers, so the art of using my hands to create and design something beautiful is important to me in keeping up the family tradition. I do my best to create unique and one-of-a-kind pieces. I've completed Certification Levels I and II and III as a Precious Metal Clay (PMC) user. I am also a member of the PMC Guild.

PMC is a product, that when fired, is 99.9% fine silver. PMC allows me to let my mind go wild with ideas! I will patina a piece to bring out detail when I feel it is needed. Patina will change the silver to many different colors depending on how much patina is used and how long it sits on the piece. The silver items have been protected with Wenol to give you a beautiful, lasting piece.

 WHAT IS PMC?

Precious Metal Clay (PMC) is a revolutionary material developed and patented by Mitsubishi Materials of Japan. Tiny particles of pure silver are suspended in an organic binder to create a material that can be worked like modeling clay. Pieces are fired in a kiln to burn off the binder and fuse the metal. The result is a solid, 100% pure silver object.

There are eleven steps to making a piece of fine silver jewelry:

1.   The creative idea

2.   The actual molding and forming of the clay

3.   Drying time

4.   Filing smooth

5.   Adding dichroic glass, CZ's or other embellishments

6.   Refining

7.   Firing in a kiln

8.   Magnetic polishing

9.   Tumbling

10. Burnishing

11. Wenol

I started out eight years ago making beaded jewelry and progressed down the line to include many different aspects of jewelry making. I love being creative and starting from a "lump of clay", to putting the final finishes and shine on a piece. I am very passionate about my work and I love to wear my jewelry. I get compliments wherever I go and am asked over and over if I have a website, which brings me to ArtSpan. I have sold my jewelry in galleries around the area, but this opens up more opportunity for people to see my pieces. Please enjoy and know that everything you see is one-of-a-kind.

Please check back periodically for more items as I create them.
